Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 823542, case No. 618277, circa 1934. Extremely fine and rare, early, small, "World Time", 18ct gold gentleman's wristwatch.

C. massive, polished, revolving reeded bezel bearing the names of 31 towns in the world, straight lugs. D. mat silver with painted Roman numerals, concentric, revolving dial in 24 hours for the nocturnal and diurnal hours. Fancy gold hands. M. 10"' rhodiumed, "fausses côtes" decoration, 18 jewels, lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance adjusted to heat, cold isochronism and 5 positions, flat balancespring. Dial, case and movement signed. In very good condition. Diam. 28 mm.

This "World Time" system was invented and patented by Louis Cottier and produced for Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, Agassiz and Rolex. Only three examples of this model by Patek Philippe are known to-day.
