"Eight-Day Going Railroad Watch" Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, "50", No. 35162. Made circa 1865. Fine and very rare, large, 8-day going, nickel-cased, half-open-faced pocket watch for railroad use.
C. Four-body, "bassine" massive, polished, wide bezel engraved "50", further bezel with deep crystal. Hinged nickel cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 55 mm.(24???), frosted gilt, standing barrel, five-wheel train, jeweled escapement, straight-line "moustache" lever, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Case signed and numbered, movement numbered. Diam. 69 mm.
