C. Four-body, "demi-bassine", polished with the blue champlevé initials "TE" on the back, later gold hinged cuvette. D. White enamel with blue Breguet numerals and blue outer minute ring, subsidiary sunk seconds also with blue indications. Gold "Louis XV" hands. M. 41.,1 mm (18 ```), rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 23 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, anibal-brass Guillaume balance, "swan-neck"icrometric regulator, stamped "EXTRA" and with Seal of Geneva Quality Hallmark.Signed on the dial and the movement, case stamped with the maker's mark, movement numbered twice.Diam. 50 mm.

Notes

Superbly adjusted Swiss watches of the period, and particularly those of Patek Philippe, were signed "EXTRA". This watch came from a series of watches destined for the 1930 and 1931 Geneva Observatory Trials and most likely took part in one of them.For note on Guillaume balance, see lot 720.
