Patek & Comp. a Geneve, N°583, case N° 583, circa 1841. Very rare and fine 18K gold and enamel very early keyless watch with special caliber and escapement.

Four body massive "demi-bassine" carrure plate case, with reeded band, the bezel with chased floral decoration, the back with a similar border and a fine portrait of a young lady painted in the oriental style on an enamel-led medaillon framed by engraved flowers and foliage "sous fondant", on a black enamel ground. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds (hair crack). Blued steel Breguet hands. Highly unusual 18" nickel bar engine-turned movement, 15 jewels, duplex escapement with a plain brass three armed balance and a bimetallic Breguet compensation curb. Signed on the cuvette. In good condition. Diam. 47 mm.
