Four body "demi-bassine" engine turned case with reeded band. Gold cuvette marked: "Invention Brevetée ". White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "Spade" hands (later). 18' gilt brass movement with the first Adrien Philippe winding device, patented in 1845, 15 jewels, gold train of wheels, cylinder escapement, plain gilt brass three armed balance with bimetallic compensation curb. Repeating on gongs by means of a slide on the band. In good condition. Diam. 49 mm.
