Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 198098, case No. 605969 made for Grogan, Co, Pittsburg, PA, sold on the 31.8.1937. Extremely rare and fine 18-carat gold "Tortue" gentleman's wristwatch, with single button split-seconds chronograph, register and tachometer.

C. shaped, massive, polished, later back. D. mat silver with Arabic numerals + vertical + auxiliary 30 minute register and seconds dials, concentric graduation for the tachometer. "Feuille" blued steel hands. M. 13', rhodiumed, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 32 jewels, lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance adjusted to 8 positions, Breguet balance-spring, visible split-seconds system. The winding-crown is also for start-stop and return to zero functions of the chronograph. The single button at "2 o'clock" controls the rattrapante hand only. The slotted slide-piece situated between the winding-crown and the push-button is used to completely block the use of the chronograph mechanism. Dial, case and movement signed. In very good condition. 34 x 34 mm.
