Minute Repeater for Richard Lewis Patek Philippe & Co, Genève, No. 65446. Made in 1882, sold on June 29, 1883 to Merrick Walsh & Phelps, St. Louis. Very fine and unusual, minute repeating, 18K pink gold hunting cased, keyless pocket watch with "à legende" dial. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.
C. Four body, "bassine et filets", polished, the front cover engraved with a monogram "REL". Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel ?légende? with letters spelling the name: R.I.C.H.A.R.D.L.E.W.I.S. in place of hour numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, outer hour numerals in small Arabic numerals. Blued steel spade hands. M. 19???, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 29 jewels, wolf's tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, minute repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. Case, cuvette and movement signed. Diam. 52 mm.
