Cal. 17''', rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, 18 jewels, wolf?s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement a moustache, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 8 adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, micrometer regulator. was a French submarine that took part in World War II combat and was awarded the Medal of Resistance with rosette in recognition of its contribution to the war effort on November 20, 1946.
Edmond Louis Hyacinthe Derrien (1882-1946)
Lieutenant de Vaisseau, Derrien was commander of French submarine Le Glorieux in the 1930s. In 1942, Admiral Derrien was in command of French naval forces in Bizerte, Tunisia, when the Germans invaded.
