PATEK PHILIPPE "POMPADOUR" Patek, Philippe & Cie., Genève, ?Pompadour, amour et pomme?, No. 100457, case No. 215047. Made in 1893. Sold on November 6th 1895. Very fine and unusual, keyless, 18K yellow gold, diamond and enamel pair-cased pendant watch. Accompanied by Extract from the Archives.

C. Outer: Two-body, the bezel with fl ower and leaves decoration, the case back with ?amour et pomme? in chased work decoration. Inner: Four-body, the bezel with blue enamel and gold leaves decoration, the case back with blue enamel, gold leaves decoration, painted portrait of Madame Pompadour set with rose cut diamonds, transparent inside case back, unusual pendant design. D. White enamel with painted blue Roman numerals and gold star, outer minute track with 5-minute gold markers. Pink gold "Louis XV" hands. M. Cal. 10???, maillechort, 19 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator with graduations engraved on center bridge, wolf?s tooth winding wheels. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 31.5 mm.
