PATEK PHILIPPE 1911-1912 GENEVA TIMING CONTEST Patek Philippe & Cie., Geneve, No. 161218, case No. 273575. Made in 1911 for entry in the 1911-1912 Geneva Astronomical Observatory Timing Contest, achieving an Honourable Mention. Presented to Dudley Baldwin Palmer in October 1913. Very fine and rare, 18K yellow gold, keyless adjusted ?EXTRA" lever chronometer pocket watch with Guillaume balance. Accompanied by the original numbered Patek Philippe box.
C. Four-body, "bassine", polished, concealed hinge, hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with heavy Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 41 mm., 19???, ?Extra?, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, engraved twice with the movement number, 17 jewels, wolf's tooth winding, straight-line counterpoised and calibrated lever escapement, anibal brass Guillaume balance with winged arms, gold and platinum temperature adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet overcoil balance spring, diamond endstone, swan-neck micrometer regulator.
