Patek, Philippe & Cie., Genève, No. 97636, case No. 217737, sold on October 13, 1896. Very fine silver and 18K gold keyless specially cased quarter-repeating watch in original mahogany fitted box and with original certificate.

C. Four-body, ?bassine et filets?, chiseled and engraved in a manner very unusual for Patek Philippe; masks on the back intertwined with elaborate initials, base finely matted, bezels chiseled and engraved in a repeated pattern, band chiseled and engraved with repeated pattern of flowers and leaves, gold hinged cuvette, hinges, lips and slide. D. Silver, in the Dutch style of the 18th century, Roman champlevé numerals with half hour flower marks, outer minute Dutch-style arch divisions, outermost five-minute Arabic figures on polished cartouches, background matte, center pierced and engraved with floral motives, subsidiary sunk seconds. Gold ?Louis XV? hands. M. 41 mm. (18???), nickel, ?fausses côtes? decoration, 25 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs, slide on the band. Signed on case and movement. Diam. 50 mm.
