Notes

This brooch is one of a small number made by Patek Philippe and the famous French designer Jean Lurcat (1892-1966) in the 1950s. Lurcat is best known for his revival of the art of tapestry making in the 20th century also often in the surrealist style. He designed only a relatively small number of pieces of jewellery and such pieces are highly sought after. Today, Lurcat?s brooches by Patek Philippe are regarded as works of art in their own right.
