PATEK PHILIPPE MINUTE REPEATER & SPLIT SECONDS CHRONOGRAPH YELLOW GOLD Patek Philippe & Cie, Geneva, Switzerland, movement No. 156696, case No. 275720. Made circa 1915. Very fine and rare, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold and enamel, keyless, split-seconds chronograph pocket watch. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.
Four-body, "bassine," polished, concealed hinge, co-axial button in the crown for start/stop and return-to-zero of the chronograph hand, button at 11 o`clock for the split-seconds and re-join, slide at 11 for locking the chronograph, the back cover with polychrome painted on enamel crest of a bird above the setting sun and the initials E.A.R. within a blue enamel border . White enamel with radial fancy Arabic numerals, outer 1/5th seconds track with 5-second red Arabic numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds dial with red numerals. Louis XV hands. Cal. 17''', rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 36 jewels, counterpoised straight-line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, visible chronograph work, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band.
