PATEK PHILIPPE LARGE-SIZE SPLIT SECOND CHRONOGRAPH MINUTE-REPEATER FOR TIFFANY PINK GOLD Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, for Tiffany & Co., New York, No. 65519. Made circa 1883. Very fine and extremely rare, large, 18K pink gold, keyless, minute-repeating pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph. Accompanied by a Tiffany & Co., Geneva, period box and the Extract from the Archives.
Four-body, "bassine", polished, back engraved with a scrolled monogram, co-axial button in the crown for the start/stop and return- to-zero chronograph function, curved rectangular pusher on the band for the split-seconds function, locking bolt at 11 o`clock. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with painted radial Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost chronograph track divided into fifths, red Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. 19```, three-quarter plate, nickel plated, fausses côtes decoration, 29 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band.
