PATEK PHILIPPE FIVE MINUTE-REPEATER PINK GOLD Patek Philippe & Cie., Geneva, Switzerland, retailed by Spaulding & Co. Chicago, No. 90356, case No. 207676. Made in 1891, sold on January 26th, 1892. Fine, 18K pink gold, keyless five-minute-repeating keyless pocket watch. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.

Four-body, "bassine", polished, hinged back and bezel. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial. Pink gold spade hands. Cal. 38 mm.(17```), nickle-plated with fausses cotes decoration, 29 jewels, counterpoised straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Movement and dial signed Patek Philippe, case stamped, movement and case signed Spaulding & Co. Chicago.

DIAM. 48 mm. According to the Extract from the Archives, this watch was made with an enamel dial with Dauphine numerals and fitted with LOUIS XV hands. It is likely that the present dial and hands were fitted at the request of the owner who perhaps preferred a less flamboyant style.
