PATEK PHILIPPE SPLIT-SECONDS CHRONOGRAPH FIVE MINUTE-REPEATER ROSE GOLD Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, retailed and cased by Tiffany & Co New York No 111854. Made circa 1900. Very fine and rare, keyless, open face, five minute repeating, 18K rose gold pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph with extract from the archives.
Four-body, "bassine", polished, co-axial button in the crown for the start/stop and return-to-zero chronograph function, curved rectangular pusher on the band for the split-seconds function, locking bolt at 11 o`clock. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with painted radial Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost chronograph track divided into fifths, brown Arabic five minute/seconds numerals. Blued steel spade hands. 16```, nickel plated, fausses côtes decoration, 26 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band.
