Patek Philippe & Cie., Genève, No. 161220, case No. 280134, made for The Sweeney Jewelry Co., Houston, Texas, circa 1912. Very fine 18K gold keyless pocket chrono-meter with 36-hour power reserve indi-cator, awarded the third prize at the Geneva Astronomical Observatory timing contest 1912-1913.
C. Four-body, "bassine", polished with concealed hinges, gold hinged cuvette engraved with the prize awarded. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds, sector for up-and-down indicator below 12 o’clock. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 40.5 mm. (18’’’), "Extra" quality, rhodium-plated, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 21 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, anibal-brass Guillaume compensation balance, eight adjustments by C. Batifolier, Breguet balance spring with "swan-neck" micrometric index. Signed on the dial, case and movement. Diam. 50 mm.
