Notes

The Extract from the Archives, dated April 27, 2018, mentioned that this watch was sold on June 27, 1956. Patek Philippe Reference 2508 This reference is launched in 1951 and remained in production until around 1960. This model is generally cased in yellow gold and very rarely in pink gold; very few examples are known in stainless steel. This reference is extremely rare with a black lacquered dial or fitted with luminous indexes and skeleton hands and even rarer when they are together. Vaccum The Latin word "Vacuum" stamped inside the case-back indicates the waterproof characteristics of the case with its screwed case-back. It is found in the Patek Philippe 1950's and 1960's production on cases bearing for examples references 1463 (Cal. 13-130 chronograph), 2508 (Cal. 27-SC), 2509 (Cal. 12-400), 2526 (Cal. 12-600AT), etc. Most of these cases were produced for Patek Philippe by the Genevan casemaker Manufacture de boites Taubert, successor of Frères Borgel, specialising in water-resistant cases.
