Notes

There are very few 8-day watches by Patek Philippe known..Two identical watches were sold to Brock & Co, a prominent Los Angeles jeweler and Patek Philippe agent; the first was delivered on September 24, 1931, case o. 609409 movement o.198451, and the second on December 9, 1933, case o. 604395, movement no.198443.The first watch was sold by Sotheby's, ew York in October 1987, as lot 178. It had been re-cased and re?dialed by Patek Philippe. The present watch was sold, accompanied by a certificate, by Sotheby's ew York in June 1995, as lot 489. At this time Sotheby's disclosed that the movement was in the original case of the other watch. For reasons unknown at this time it appears that Brock & Co. exchanged the cases and movements of the two watches.
