Patek, Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 111631, case No. 223810. Produced in 1899, sold on February 27, 1900.Very fine and rare, keyless, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives. Recently serviced by Patek Philippe.
C. four-body, "bassine", polished, case back engraved with initials "A.B.T." in red and blue enamel, gold hinged cuvette engraved: "No. 111631, Made for Ashley Bemis Tower, 1899, by Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève", slide-bolt on the band at 11 to lock and unlock the chronograph button, a pushbutton to its left for controlling the split-seconds mechanism. D. white enamel with painted Breguet numerals, outer 1/5th seconds scale and five minute/seconds red Arabic markers, subsidiary seconds dial. Pik gold "Louis XVI" hands. M. Cal. 17''', nickel-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 26 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued-steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 47 mm.
