Very fine 18K gold and enamel keyless Art Deco watch in wooden fitted box, accompanied by Extract from the Archives.

C. Four-body, back engraved with initials "WLS", brushed, bezels with black enamel geometrical pattern.D. Silver, applied gold cubiste numerals, outer minute dot divisions, subsidiary sunk seconds. Gold "spade" hands.M. 37 mm (17???), rhodium-plated, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 18 jewels, 8 adjustments, straight line "moustache" lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, punched twice with Geneva Seal of Quality mark.Signed on dial, case and movement, the cuvette engraved: "Wilmer L. Stultz from Citizens of Altoona Commemorating Trans-Atlantic Flight 1928".Diam. 45 mm.

This watch was given to Wilmer Stultz in commemoration of the famous 1928 flight in which Amelia Earhart became famous as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic. The flight spurred Earhart on to accomplish her celebrated 1932 solo Trans-Atlantic flight.
