Patek Philippe & Cie. A Geneve, No. 197582, case No. 407957, made for Shaefer & Hartel, Rochester, N.Y. (U.S.A.), sold to William E. Sloan Jr. in July 1927 for $ 1'450. Very fine and rare 18K gold, triple complication, moon phase astronomical, keyless minute repeating watch, with perpetual calendar, split second chronograph and instantaneous twice 30-minute recorder. Accompanied by a mahogany original fitted box with original certificate and receipt dated 1927.
C. Three body, massive "bassine ", polished with concealed hinge, the back engraved with a small crest. Hinged gold cuvette engraved: "Made for William E. Sloan Jr. in July 1927". D. White enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute and chronograph ring, sunk subsidiary dials for clays of the week, minute register with inner moon phase aperture, its age on the border, months, subsidiary seconds with red outer date ring. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 18"', rhodium plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 39 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Split second chronograph with visible work, button on the winding crown and push-piece in the band. Signed on the dial, case and movement. In perfect condition. Diam. 54 mm.
