Notes

Recently consigned and fresh to the market, this rare pink gold 1579 has remained in the hands of the original family. A doctor for the ARA (Armada de la Republica Argentina) he served on the light cruiser ship "La Argentina" that served as a training vessel for the navy cadets. It was introduced in 1939 and cruised the world until its decommission in 1972. During his tour in 1949, the ship stopped in the region of Rome where the owner stopped into the Patek Philippe retailer Hausmann and decided to purchase a pink gold chronograph, popular with South American clients. Due to his profession, he decided he wanted to acquire a pink gold pulsation scale dial, which according to the Patek Philippe accompanying letter was delivered to him in November 1949, a few months after his purchase, replacing the original silver dial (no longer available).
Kept by the original family until now, the pink gold case has been preserved in excellent condition reflected by the deep and crisp hallmark under the lug. The dial has also been very well preserved with the signature as well at the seconds track showing crisp and nicely raised enamel. It is likely that the outer pulsation scale was reprinted at some time in its life. Still accompanied by its original certificate of origin and original pink gold pulsation scale dial order, a great opportunity to acquire a one-owner 1579 in its rare pink gold configuration.
