PATEK PHILIPPE FOR SERPICO Y LAINO, REF 2526 ENAMEL DIAL ORIGINAL 1957 GAY FRERES BRACELET Patek Philippe, Genève, retailed by Serpico Y Laino, Caracas, No. 764827, case No. 2602819, Ref. 2526. Made in 1957, sold on April 29, 1958. Very fine and rare, water-resistant, self-winding, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with enamel dial and the original 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe for Gay frères tile-link bracelet with date punch mark for 1957. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives and a Gübelin service document dated 2011.

Two-body, solid, polished, concave lugs, rounded bezel, screw down case back. Ivory-color enamel with applied yellow gold faceted baton indexes, outer dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds dial. Yellow gold dauphine hands. Cal. 12```-600 AT, stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 30 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, swan- neck micrometer regulator, 18K gold rotor.

Dial, case and movement signed, dial also signed Serpico Y Laino, Caracas, case and bracelet punched "S&L" for Serpico Y Laino, bracelet signed Patek Philippe and punched "GF" for Gay Freres and with date punch for the fourth quarter of 1957. DIAM. 35 mm. THICKNESS 11 mm. Approx. overall length 170 mm. The Extract from the Archives confirms not only the enamel dial but the bracelet in yellow gold. The rarity of the present watch is enhanced by the signature of the retailer Serpico y Laino, Patek Philippe's agent in Caracas, Venezuela, signed on the dial and with the initials "S.&L." stamped on the both the case back and on the bracelet clasp. The 18K gold bracelet is signed Patek Philippe & Co. and stamped GF for Gay Frères. The clasp also bears the punched number 4.57 for the last quarter of 1957, the same date of manufacture as the watch.
