Notes

Property of the original Swiss family
REF. 3417 Production of this reference started in 1958. The caliber 12-400 was in production then, and some of the examples were Amagnetic like the present lot. The Amagnetic cal. 27-400 AM was launched in 1960. Examples are found both with and without the Amagnetic signature on the dial, depending on the production date. Amagnetic calibers are fitted with a bronze beryllium lever escapement and are protected by a soft iron cap. This example was recently discovered by the family in a drawer and has been kept unpolished and still has its original Patek Philippe steel buckle. Similar watches are published in Patek Philippe Wristwatches, by M. Huber and Alan Banbery, 1998, pp. 192 and 194.
