Notes

Production of this reference started in 1958. The caliber 12-400 was in production then, and some of the examples were Amagnetic. The Amagnetic cal. 27-400 AM was launched in 1960 such as this lot. Amagnetic calibers are fitted with a bronze beryllium lever escapement and are protected by a soft iron cap.
This particular example has remained in the same family since it was acquired at the Gubelin store in Geneva in 1967 as a payment for services rendered. Part of the later series featuring dot indexes rather than the long indexes on previous models, this example has been kept in amazing condition its desirability further enhanced by the Gubelin signature on the dial.

Provenance

Property of the original Italian family
