Notes

Patek Philippe, Ref. 3448

Produced in 586 examples from 1962 to 1982, with the calibre 27-460 Q; the majority in yellow gold, rarely in pink or white gold.

This series began with the serial number 1 119 000 making this example the 20th ever made.

While the first series was produced until 1974, the watch was "modernised" in its second series featuring a sapphire crystal to increase shock resistance and minimise scratching.

In the eyes of the collectors, the Ref. 3448 will always be known as the first ever self-winding perpetual calendar wristwatch (not counting very small productions or unique pieces) and its modern design combined with its angular design has allowed a new generation of collectors to acquire these extremely limited historical masterpieces.
