Movement 869047, case 2'839'147, the present lot ? Movement unknown, case 2'839'xxx, private collection Believed to be done in 3 examples until now, this watch with CASE NUMBER 2'839'147 suggests that at least 7 examples were made. Another one was recently seen in a private collection proving that at least 5 have been physically accounted for. All these watches were initially made with 1463 MOVEMENTS (one it seems came from a 1579) and were most likely supplied by the customers. The extract states that this example was born as a 1463 and was recased by PATEK PHILIPPE in 1986. Featuring a beautiful waterproof case, this was more than likely the only option offered by Patek Philippe as no other simple chronographs were available in the 1980's.
