Notes

Sold in December 1985, this 3940 is, most likely, with its movement number of 770’034, the 34th 3940 to be produced. It was the first modern perpetual calendar launched after the 3448/3450 and production continued until 2006. A testament to its success and timeless design, it is no surprise that it was for a long time, worn daily by Mr. Philippe Stern. The first series was only delivered with a full solid back and can be instantly recognised by its single sunk sub-dials.
