This model will be treasured as one of the most complicated timepieces that Patek Philippe has ever created. It combines an automatic movement with minute repeater, perpetual calendar and moon phase mechanism in a timepiece first built for the company’s 150th anniversary in 1989. The case of Ref. 3974 was made for Patek Philippe by the celebrated Jean-Pierre Hagmann, whose case maker’s marks are stamped to the bottom right lug. The repeater may be made to sound the hours and quarters and the elapsed minutes since the last quarter. Received as a gift to the current family, the watch has remained in virtually unused condition and has never been polished as can clearly be seen on the lugs and the hallmarks that are crisp
