1978 and subsequently sold on June 14, 1978.
Preserved in very good condition, this reference 4424/1 is the only one known to
date.
Similar models have done very well at auction, including a yellow gold
set, Ref. 4321/2, with chrysoprase, onyx and diamonds, sold at Christie’s
in 2015 for CHF 87 500.-, and more recently a yellow gold set, part of the
same series, Ref. 4321/4, with malachite, onyx and diamonds, sold for CHF
138 600.- at Phillips in April 2021.
This unique set with its playful design and vivid tones, decorated with
ornamental stones mixed with textured gold, sublimely embodies
the 1970’s, influenced by the hippie movement and world cultures,
characterizing the freedom and creativity of that decade.
