Notes

Debuting at Baselworld 1993, the Reference 5050 marked a milestone as Patek Philippe’s first serially produced perpetual calendar to feature a retrograde date, moonphase and center seconds. While early iterations utilized Roman numerals and a moonphase aperture, this second-series example watch features a dial with baton indexes and a circular subsidiary moonphases indicator, highlighted with the wording “automatic”. This particular piece is encased in 18K white gold, a configuration rarely seen on the auction market. Discontinued in 2002, this Reference 5050G is preserved in excellent condition, accompanied by its original box, Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives. As a pinnacle of Patek Philippe’s grand complications, this is a rare opportunity for the discerning collector.
