Reference5100, wrist-chronometerwith 10-day power reserve
Produced to mark the millennium in 2000, this model was fitted with a movement with 10 days of power reserve and was manufactured in a limited series of 3 000 examples:
· 1 500 in yellow gold, reference 5100 J.
· 750 in rose gold, reference 5100 R.
· 450 in grey gold, reference 5100 G.
· 300 in platinum, reference 5100 P.
The destruction of the tools and dies used for the manufacture of the case ensured that this model can no longer be produced.
At the request of Patek Philippe, a new Bulletin de marche (Watch rate certificate) was created by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (C.O.S.C.; Official Swiss Chronometers Control) exclusively reserved for watches bearing the Poinçon de Genève (Hall-mark of Geneva).
The case of this model was inspired by the Patek Philippe Ref. 2524, launched in 1955, and so-called “Manta Ray” by collectors.
