Notes

Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe has distinguished itself since then by its exceptional savoir-faire combining excellence, classic lines and elegant designs. It is known for its craftsmanship in grand complications, the World Time being one of the most emblematic. In 1931, a genius watchmaker, Louis Cottier (1894-1966), developed a movement that indicates all 24 time zones with the help of an inner rotating bezel. In 1937, Patek Philippe partnered with Louis Cottier and launched the World Time. Introduced in 2000, the reference 5110 is produced until 2006, in yellow, pink and white gold and platinum. These World Times are not only a demonstration of technical prowess but also a testimony to a historical turning point, an illustration of a world where internationalisation is changing the habits of modern man.
