The "Gondolo Calendario" reference 5135 was produced from 2004 to 2010. It featured a distinguished tonneau-shaped case as an homage to Patek Philippe’s watches from the Art Deco period.

The "Gondolo Calendario" reference 5135 was produced from 2004 to 2010. It featured a distinguished tonneau-shaped case as an homage to Patek Philippe’s watches from the Art Deco period.

The 5135 was the first wristwatch that automatically advances the month, day and date and requires manual correction only once a year on the 1st of March. This classic model is powered by the in-house caliber 324 “Poinçon de Genève” introduced in 1996, which features the patented annual calendar complication. This specific example is cased in platinum and features two baguette-cut diamond indexes at 3 and 9.

What makes this timepiece an even more sought-after collectible item is the retailer’s signature on the dial “Ti"any” at 6, under the moon-phases. The partnership between Ti"any and Patek Philippe dates back to 1851, when Antoine Norbert de Patek and Charles Ti"any met in New York. Ti"any has been selling Pateks that are marked “Ti"any & Co.” ever since. Today, Ti"any is the only American retailer whose name appears on the dial of a Patek Philippe watch. In excellent overall condition, this lot is a must-have for today’s collectors.
