Notes

Property of a distinguished gentleman Released for the 175th anniversary of the brand, the 5275 was the second most complicated watch released for this occasion apart from the 5175, the Grandmaster Chime. Released in a very limited edition of only 175 examples, as an updated version of the jump hour anniversary released in 1989, reference 3969R made in 450 pieces (for a rose gold version, see lot 616). This new reference distinguishes itself by many new features that led to Patek Philippe depositing 4 new patents just for this watch. Providing 45 hours of power reserve, the new platinum case is hand engraved on both sides with floral motifs matching the dial and has a slide to the side to engage/disengage the chime mechanism which strikes at each hour. Made available to the best clients only at a retail price of CHF 310'000, this is the first example ever to appear at auction, still untouched in its factory seal.
