Introduced in 1932, with the reference 96, the Calatrava is probably one of the most iconic classic watch model in the history of horology. The reference 5396R, “R” meaning in pink gold, was launched in 2016, for the 20th anniversary of the Patek Philippe annual calendar (requiring only one correction per year) which was introduced in 1996 under the ref. 5035. The global design of the watch is an homage to the 1940’s Calatrava. Such watch as this one are embodying perfectly the Generation’s campaign motto : “You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation”.
