Specially ordered by Patek Philippe's Saudi Arabian Retailer in 1953 in honor of King Abdul al-Aziz III Ibn Saud (1880- 1953), founder of Saudi Arabia.

A series of 200 pocket watches, Ref. 600/1, and 150 wristwatches, Ref. 2481, all with ivory-colored enamel dial bearing the portrait of the King and ruby indexes, were made for King Abdul al-Aziz III Ibn Saud in 1953. In 1975, another series of wristwatches, Ref. 3688/901, were made by Patek Philippe with the effigy of King Abdul Aziz's son, King Faisal ibn Abdul Aziz al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
