PATEK PHILIPPE REF. 699 MINUTE REPEATER & PERPETUAL CALENDAR WITH SPECIAL ORDER OUTER PROTECTING CASE Patek Philippe, Genève, No. 861351, case No. 681109, Ref. 699. Made in 1953, sold on March 2nd 1955. Extremely fine and very rare, keyless, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases and an 18K gold special order Patek Philippe outer protecting case punched with the movement number. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.

Three-body, "variée carrure plate", solid, polished and brushed, correctors on the flat band, snap-on back engraved with initials "M.F.C.". Satiné silver with applied yellow gold baton and dot indexes and Roman quarter-hour numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the days of the month, of the week, the months with 4-year cycle, aperture for the moon phases. Yellow gold feuille hands. Cal. 17"', rhodium-plated, fausses côtes decoration, 29 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs by activating a slide on the band.

Dial, case and movement signed, outer case signed and numbered with the movement number. DIAM. 48 mm. To date, only four examples of this model including the present watch have been offered at auction. The Extract from the Archives confirms that an outer protection case was made for this watch making it unique amongst this reference. VARIATIONS OF REFERENCE 699 Ref. 699/2, was fitted with the AMERICAN CALENDAR triple window for day, date and month indication. To date, only five examples are known. Ref. 699/3, the third variant, features a two train movement and trip minute repeating activated by a button in the crown, only two examples of this model are known to exist to date.
