Notes

Dial, case and movement signed. The back cover enamel signed M. Bischoff. DIAM. 47 mm. The Extract from the Archives confirms the manufacture of this watch in 1972 and the painted on enamel case back entitled "The Shepherd in Love". MME. BISCHOFF Along with Suzanne Rohr and J. Pellarin-LeRoy, Madame Bischoff was one of the very few enamellists capable of producing such exquisite work for Patek Philippe. Her scrupulous attention to detail and long experience of the technique of painting on enamel made her one of the best enamellists for painting naturalistic pieces, often copied or inspired from old master paintings. Her work shows great DEPTH and tonality particularly in the rendering of shadows and the human form.
