Notes

Neville Chamberlain was the British Prime Minister from May 1937 to May 1940. His memory is controversial as many historians later blamed him for the Munich accord, despite this he was very well respected in parliament after being succeeded by Winston Churchill and was an important member of the war cabinet as Lord President of the Council. While the engraving remains a mystery, the caseback features the name Chamberlain in greek with a centaur carrying water, it is possible that there was a connexion with the guarantees being given to Greece in 1939 following the Italian invasion of Albania in April 1939.
