"La Constellée - Solid Gold Clock" Patek Philippe, Genève. No. 1803510, Ref. 1156. Unique piece made in 1977, sold on December 23, 1977. Very fine and very elegant, unique, 18K yellow gold and enamel quartz mantel clock set with 50 cabochon sapphires. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.

C. Multi-piece, domed cupola overlaid with translucent red enamel over radial line engraving, mounted with gold flowering branches and leaves, the flowers set with cabochon sapphires, four finials set with cabochon sapphires, moulded entablature with sunray engraved top, the bowed sides and back decorated to match the cupola, four out-set fluted pillars with beaded capitals and bases, stepped and molded base with engraved sunray and dentilled decoration. D. Brushed gold chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, matte gold dial mask mounted with leaves and flowers to match the case set with cabochon sapphires, the center overlaid with pink opalescent guilloché enamel. Gold and royal blue enameled "fleur-delys" hands. M. Cal. 33, 1.4v with quartz standardization, photoelectric cell. Dim. 27.5 x 16.5 x 16 cm.

This unique clock is made from solid 18K gold and decorated thoughout with 50 cabochon sapphires, weighing 21.6 carats. At the time the clock was made it was one of the most expensive pieces made by Patek Philippe.
