The Universe Patek Philippe, Genève, ?Pièce Unique - Pendulette Dôme The Universe?, movement No. 1803542, Ref. 1197. Made in 1980, sold on September 8th, 1986. Very fine and unique, solar-powered and electro-mechanical, brass table clock with polychrome cloisonné enamel panels depicting a rocket in outer space above the earth traveling to the moon. Accompanied by an original Patek Philippe fitted box and the Extract from the Archives.

Cylindrical brass with panels and domed top, entirely polychrome cloisonné enameled with scenes forming a panorama of outer space, the earth below, a rocket traveling towards the moon, the solar cells on top of the dome, case raised on 3 ribbed feet.D. Matte off-white with applied brushed gilt chapter ring with radial black Roman numerals and Calatrava half-hour indexes, in each corner a cloisonne enamel plaque decorated to match the case. Gilt and black skeleton hands. M. Cal. 17???, solar-powered by photoelectric cell with lithium battery back-up, driving a remontoir train, winding the barrel spring, 29 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 22 x 12.5 cm.
