'Feuille' yellow goldhands. M. 13''' CCR, stamped with the GenevaQuality Hallmark, rhodium plated, 'faussescôtes' decoration, 25 jewels, lever escapement,monometallic balance, 8 adjustments, self-compensatingBreguet balance-spring,micrometer regulator, the coaxial button on thewinding-crown is for the start-stop and return tozero functions of the split-second chronographhand.Dial, case, and movement signed.Diam. 33 mm.

Ref. 1436Split-seconds chronograph wristwatches were'the must' of Patek Philippe technology and after1938 were generally cased with this Ref.The majority are in yellow gold. Rarely, they are inpink gold, and only three stainless steel examplesare known, two of which were sold byAntiquorum:- Geneva, April 10, 1994, lot 431.- Geneva, April 23 1995, lot 457.In the mid- 50's some were produced with acoaxial button on the winding-crown for the split-secondsfunctions (stop and reunite).A similar watch is published in 'Patek PhilippeGenève, Wristwatches', by MARTIN HUBER andALAN BANBERY, Patek Philippe S.A., Geneva,1998, pp. 273-274.
