Notes

Production of reference 1463 launched in 1940. The model was produced in yellow and pink gold, and a few examples in stainless steel. The fi rst examples of reference 1463 had bezels which continued to the band; this changed in the early 1950's to a stepped bezel. The 1463 is further distinguished as the fi rst production model of a waterproof chronograph made by Patek Philippe, and is immediately recognized by its beautiful engine-turned chronograph buttons. A similar example is published in "Patek Philippe Wristwatches", by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery, 1998, page 267.
