Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 863793, case No. 644118, Ref. 1518, 1st series. Made in 1946, sold on October 21st., 1947. Very fine and very rare, astronomic, 18K pink gold gentleman's wristwatch with perpetual calendar, moon phases, square button chronograph, register and tachometer, with an 18K pink gold Patek Philippe buckle and an additional silvered pink gold dial with black applied Arabic numerals. Accompanied by a fitted box and the Extract from the Archives.

C. three-body, solid, polished and brushed, concave bezel and lugs, crystal with "Cyclops" lens for the days of the week and the months indication. D. matte silver with painted black Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds and 30-minute register dials, graduation for the days of the month, outer tachometer graduation, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases. "Feuille" pink gold hands. M. 13''' rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 23 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, 8 adjustments, self-compensation Breguet balance-pring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm.

The present lot is an extremely rare example of Ref. 1518 with printed upright Arabic numerals instead of the more usual applied gold ones, as is mentioned in the certificate. Ref. 1518 Produced in 281 examples from 1941 to 1954, in yellow and pink gold, only four examples known to date in stainless steel. - First series with applied gold Arabic numerals from 1941 to 1954. - Second series presented at the Basel Fair in 1942 with enameled hour indexes, the 12 in applied gold Arabic numerals. - Third series with applied gold indexes, the 12 in applied gold Arabic numerals. - Fourth series with applied gold "Bâton" indexes.
