?Monochrome Platinum? Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 863875, case No. 645564, Ref. 1579. Produced in 1946, sold on April 3, 1947. Only three examples made in platinum, this being the first. Extremely fine and exceptionally rare, oversized platinum, gentleman,s wristwatch with square button chronograph, register, tachometer and a platinum steel Patek Philippe buckle.

C. Three-body, solid, polished, dedicated case back, sloped bezel, faceted teardrop lugs. D. Matte silver with applied white gold Arabic numerals and painted indexes, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials, outer tachometer graduation. White gold "feuille" hands. M. 13''', rhodium plated, "fausses-côtes"decoration, 23 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, 8 adjustments, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 36 mm. Height 11.2 mm.Engraved on the case back: "David. J. Paper".

Ref. 1579 Production began in 1943. This reference was produced in Staybrite very rare, in steel with pink gold lugs, bezel, and crown extremely rare, in yellow gold standard production, pink and in white gold extremely rare. Only three examples were made in platinum. Of these, the present watch is in the most original condition.
