Extremely fine and rare, astronomic, center-seconds, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with perpetual calendar, moon phases and an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe buckle. D. matte silver with applied yellow gold indexes, auxiliary dial for the days of the month, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases. "Dauphine" yellow gold hands. M. 27-SC Q, stamped with the Geneva Quality Hallmark, rhodium-plated, ?fausses côtes? decoration, 18 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock-absorber, Breguet balance-spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37 mm.

Ref. 2497 and 2438-1 Ref. 2497 started in 1951 and 2438-1 started in 1952: From 1952 to 1963, only 179 examples of this model were produced, the majority in yellow gold, very few in pink and in white gold and only one in platinum is known to date; the Ref. 2438-1 with screwed back has also been produced in very small quantities. Ref. 2497 - First series from 1952 to 1958 with applied Arabic numerals and "Feuille" hands. - Second series from 1958 to 1960 with applied Arabic numerals and "Dauphine" hands. - Third series with applied gold indexes and "Dauphine" hands. Ref. 2438/1 - First series in yellow gold with applied Arabic numerals, "Dauphine" hands, fluted lugs, screwed back. - Second series with applied "Bâton" indexes, "Dauphine" hands, fluted lugs, screwed back.
