Notes

The Ref. 2 442 is on e of the m ost icon ic Patek Philippe watches in a rectangular case, perhaps the ultimate extravagance of the notoriously conservative company, it followed the equally impressive rectangular references 2440 (Ram's Horn) and 2441 (Eiffel Tower). These three references represent some of the finest examples of vintage rectangular watches manufactured and are justifiably among the most desirable. The 2442, with its impressive curves, is known by collectors as the "Marilyn Monroe". The model is also affectionately referred to as "The Banana". Examples in pink gold are particularly rare.
