Wristwatches featuring "cloisonné" enamel dials made by Patek Philippe are extremely rare.The dial of this wristwatch is particularly rare since it introduces perspective. As opposed to being a scene set on a flat plane, this dial shows varying levels of depth. There is the sense that the ocean is the far background, and that the vibrant tropical fruits as well as palm trees are in the foreground, with a small canoe between the two.Similar watches are illustrated in "Patek Philippe Geneve, Wristwatches", by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery, 1998 Edition, pages 205, 209 and 211 and in "Collecting Patek Philippe Watches" by M. and O.
